ACHI Magazine Nomination and Gala

On Sunday, July 27, 2014 ACHI Magazine will be hosting their first annual Gala and Award Ceremony at The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center. This event will recognize over 150 women for their outstanding accomplishments. I am SUPER excited because I was nominated for Literary Excellence, this girl was shocked and blown away.

What is ACHI?

Dr. Juanita Fletcher’s, mission for creating this magazine is “To contribute to the personal growth and empowerment of the female reader through meaningful dialogues about fashion, art, beauty, life/love, health, inspiration and career choices.”

What Christmas Means To Me

Recently, I was asked what Christmas means to me and to be honest around the holidays I become irritated and grouchy. I have been in such a funk that I was called Scrooge and The Grinch. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't hate Christmas I just despise what it now stands for. Everyone is so caught up in buying presents, because the kids have huge lists or they are in competition with others who can spend the most money; that they don't remember the true meaning. Christmas isn't about only about gifts, decorating trees, Santa Clause, it's about spending time with friends and family...making wonderful memories. Memories are going to stay with you forever, not gifts. This Christmas take the time to appreciate one another, rebuild relationships and most importantly show the world some love. Happy Holidays.
